Power BI Developer (Snowflake & Enterprise Analytics):

The Power BI Developer will design, develop, and optimize enterprise Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI and Snowflake. This role is responsible for building scalable semantic models, advanced DAX calculations, enterprise dashboards, optimized SQL queries, and dimensional data models that support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will collaborate with data engineering teams to deliver high-performance analytics solutions while ensuring data quality, governance, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Power BI dataflows and semantic models using dimensional modeling best practices.

• Build advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, and analytical logic.

• Develop enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports.

• Create paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.

• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries including:

  • CTEs

  • Window Functions

  • Analytical Queries

• Retrieve and prepare Snowflake data for reporting and analytics.

• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize:

  • Fact Tables

  • Dimension Tables

  • Star Schema Models

• Integrate Power BI with Snowflake using optimal connection modes.

• Optimize query folding, report performance, and data refresh processes.

• Document metadata, data lineage, semantic models, and reporting specifications.

• Ensure governance, transparency, and maintainability across reporting assets.

• Embed Power BI reports into enterprise web and internal applications.

• Participate in performance tuning and report optimization initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable enterprise reporting solutions.

• Optimize Snowflake compute usage and reporting performance.

• Maintain Power BI workspaces and deployment processes.

• Support CI/CD and version control for Power BI solutions.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into technical solutions.

• Maintain documentation and technical standards.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 14 years of overall IT experience.

• Minimum 5 years of Business Intelligence development experience.

• Minimum 35 years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI development.

• Strong experience developing:

  • Enterprise Dashboards

  • Analytical Reports

  • Semantic Models

  • Dataflows

• Advanced DAX programming experience.

• Strong Power Query experience.

• Experience creating Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder.

• Advanced SQL expertise including:

  • Common Table Expressions (CTEs)

  • Window Functions

  • Analytical Queries

  • Query Optimization

• Strong understanding of:

  • Star Schema

  • Fact & Dimension Modeling

  • Dimensional Modeling

• Experience with Snowflake including:

  • Performance Tuning

  • Clustering Keys

  • Compute Optimization

  • Cost Optimization

  • RBAC Security

  • Warehouse Sizing

• Experience integrating Power BI with Snowflake.

• Experience with:

  • Power BI Workspaces

  • Report Performance Optimization

  • Metadata Management

  • Data Lineage

• Experience embedding Power BI reports into enterprise applications.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• CI/CD implementation for Power BI.

• Version control using Git or Azure DevOps.

• Enterprise BI governance.

• Data catalog and metadata management.

• Performance optimization across Power BI and Snowflake.

• Experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise Business Intelligence solutions.

• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and semantic layer design.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.

• Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, SMEs, and data engineering teams.

Education:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

• Master\'s degree preferred.

Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) Preferred

• SnowPro Core Certification Preferred

• SnowPro Advanced: Architect Preferred

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate Preferred

• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate Preferred
