Lead Teacher

Location and Job Title: Lead Teacher YM -YWHA of Union County 501 Green Ln Union, NJ 07083 Principal Responsibilities: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children from infancy through Pre‑K in a classroom setting and possess strong skills in classroom management and curriculum development. This role involves educating young minds, fostering a positive learning environment, and implementing engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of preschool children. Duties Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans with direction that align with our vision and educational standards. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment. Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages students' social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly. Collaborate with parents and guardians to support student development. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices. Maintain a safe and organized classroom space. Ability to take charge and work together with the Teacher Assistants to maintain a cohesive classroom setting based on teamwork. Minimum Qualifications: Experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline while promoting a positive learning environment. Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning techniques. Ability to educate preschool‑aged children effectively, using creative and engaging methods. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with students, parents, and colleagues. A degree in Education or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
