Job Summary

Responsible for performing essential respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients. This role includes assessing patient needs, administering prescribed therapies, and managing documentation and patient records.

Essential Functions

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy.
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy while maintaining accurate patient charts.
• Draw arterial blood gases per policy and physician orders.
• Provide care to ventilator patients, ensuring adherence to care protocols.
• Assist with department record keeping and operations, including training new employees.
• Document care provided and maintain records of treatment.

Job Requirements

• Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Three years of technical experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential: Required in CA, OR, and HI.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license: Required in CA.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification: Preferred.

Additional Information

This position may require floating to other locations as needed and offers opportunities for overtime. A commitment to patient-centered care and ongoing education within the field is essential.
