Physical Therapist Aide Full Time Clerical Salinas, CA, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 2496 Salary Range: $23.00 To $26.00 Hourly SUMMARY The person in the position of Physical & Occupational Therapist Aide will assist with patient in-take and treatment regimens as prescribed by the treating Physical Therapist. This individual must be friendly, personable and have excellent communication skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes but not limited to the following: Assists patients to/from treatment rooms using appropriate equipment such as wheelchair. Administer modalities as instructed by Physical Therapist. Transfers patients using appropriate body mechanics and equipment as necessary. Maintains patient care equipment and examination rooms following cleanliness, infection control and safety procedures. Inventories and stocks supplies, equipment, linens. Submit purchasing and equipment repair requests as needed. Provides other departmental support as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma; Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Aide preferred. Minimum one year experience in customer service position; preferably in health care setting. PREFERRED Bilingual may be required at certain clinics or during certain shifts. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of safe transport and transfer procedures including body mechanics. Knowledge of how to use/maintain department equipment. Knowledge of universal precautions and emergency procedures. Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze datasets Effective verbal and writing skills Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Demonstrates customer-focused interpersonal skills and interacts effectively with practitioners, the interdisciplinary healthcare team, community agencies, patients, and families who may have diverse opinions, values, and religious and cultural ideals. Demonstrates ability to work autonomously and be directly accountable for results Demonstrates flexibility Exhibits capability to influence and negotiate individual and group decision making Possesses skills to function effectively in a fluid, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment Displays proven ability to positively influence behavior and outcomes SKILLS Skill in knowing how to clean equipment such as wheelchairs, whirlpools, and cabinets, shelves and treatment rooms. Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques. Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace and confidentiality methods.
