Job Summary

The Engineering Technician supports product design, development, testing, maintenance, and field-related activities. This role combines strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills with engineering test support and equipment maintenance.

Job Description

• Troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical circuits, electronic systems, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
• Perform hydraulic circuit troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Perform maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting activities on downhole tools and related equipment.
• Support equipment reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
• Utilize computer-based software systems for equipment operation, diagnostics, testing, and maintenance.
• Learn and support wireline cable-related operations and maintenance as part of ongoing technical development.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Set up and conduct routine and non-routine tests in support of product design and development.
• Work with engineers and technicians to set up, perform, and document non-routine and complex tests.
• Collect, organize, analyze, and prepare concise reports on test data, including conclusions and recommendations.
• Prepare and plot pump and motor performance curves using test and analytical data.
• Maintain accurate engineering notebooks documenting significant testing, development, and technical activities.
• Prepare test and fabrication requests as required to support engineering and product development projects.
• Prepare product design layouts and technical documentation.
• Develop conceptual sketches for new designs, product improvements, and innovations.
• Prepare detailed part drawings and other design documentation.
• Assist engineers and manufacturing personnel in resolving problems related to product design.
• Review redlined production drawings and assist with manufacturing process audits when needed.
• Assist with the construction, modification, testing, and disassembly of laboratory test units and field-test prototypes.
• Process necessary manufacturing and purchasing documentation related to test units, prototypes, and engineering projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other technical teams to support product development and resolve technical issues.
• Work independently when appropriate while maintaining effective communication with team members.
• Perform additional technical, testing, maintenance, and engineering support duties as assigned.

Skills Required

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or in a closely related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits and electronic troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic circuit troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance and repair practices.
• High mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn software applications used for equipment diagnostics, testing, and operations.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical training, certifications, or education related to electro-mechanical technology, engineering technology, or a related field.
• Experience with wireline cable operations and maintenance, preferably in an oilfield or wireline environment.
• Experience working with downhole tools or related oilfield equipment.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $30 - $34 per hour ( Compensation will be offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)

Additional Requirements

• Schedule: 1st Shift - M-F 8am-5pm
