Responsibilities Provide legal guidance to county leadership, boards, and departments Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of civil documents and contracts Represent the county in civil proceedings, administrative hearings, and special dockets Support transparency through review of public records requests Conduct legal research and prepare clear, practical recommendations Attend meetings and contribute to policy development Collaborate with a supportive team of attorneys and staff to deliver high-quality service Requirements Juris Doctor and license to practice law in Iowa Strong analytical and writing skills Confidence providing legal advice to leadership Clear communication skills and sound judgment Ability to manage diverse tasks with professionalism and efficiency We’re committed to fostering a workplace where attorneys can thrive — not just professionally, but personally.
