Associate Veterinarian - Greater Richmond Area, Virginia

Job Description

Job Description

A modern small animal practice in the Greater Richmond area of Virginia is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, no on-call rotation, strong clinical support, and the ability to develop specialized areas of interest alongside general practice medicine.

What to Expect

A schedule built around you.
Flexible scheduling is available based on the veterinarian’s availability, with no on-call rotation , allowing your time outside the hospital to remain your own.

A modern environment for practicing quality medicine.
The hospital is a well-maintained, contemporary facility with current veterinary equipment and systems designed to support efficient, high-quality patient care.

A genuine commitment to low-stress medicine.
The team embraces cooperative, low-stress patient handling. Veterinarians who are Fear Free certified, Feline Friendly–minded, or simply committed to scruff-free, cooperative-care techniques will find an environment that supports that approach.

Build the caseload that interests you.
The practice actively supports veterinarians who want to develop a clinical niche. Doctors with training — or an interest in pursuing training — in areas such as:

• Acupuncture
• Chiropractic care
• Rehabilitation
• Herbal medicine
• Canine sports and performance medicine

can be provided dedicated scheduling space to develop that caseload while continuing to practice general veterinary medicine. The surrounding area has an active dog-sports and performance community that creates additional opportunities for veterinarians interested in these services.

Strong clinical support.
A favorable staff-to-doctor ratio provides veterinarians with the support needed to focus on excellent patient care and medicine.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary of $120,000–$150,000
• Production compensation
• Generous sign-on bonus packages available
• Health insurance
• Dental insurance
• Vision insurance
• Retirement benefits
• 401(k)
• Generous continuing education allowance
• Veterinary licenses and professional dues covered

• Partnership opportunities

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Virginia veterinary license
• Ability to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care to small animals
• Certification or interest in integrative medicine or canine sports medicine is a plus, but not required
