About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Cardiac Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required. Must-Have: - Strong PCU background within the last year. - Epic Experience. - Weekend rotation required: Every other weekend. - First-timers accepted with Epic experience and 2 years of experience. Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse to care for inpatient/CICU level holds. Candidates must have a strong background in a Progressive Care Unit. Emergency Department experience is preferred but not required. The nurse will assist with a variety of patient diagnoses including chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia. The unit will also see overflow cases from medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic departments. Special procedures include managing and titrating drips such as Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labatolol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine. Special equipment used in this role includes BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitoring systems. The nurse will also be involved in team nursing and helping with floating to similar units as needed. Patient sitting assignments will be managed to ensure that patients align with clinical assignments or team duties. Additional skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, isolation precautions, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care.
