NATURE OF POSITION

The Activities Director is under direct supervision of the principal and assistant principal and performs assigned administrative and supervisory duties involving the coordination of the 5 th /6 th Grade, Middle, and High School Activities Program. The Activities Director will, within the limits of the principal’s delegated authority, be responsible for and have commensurate authority to accomplish the fulfillment of the duties set forth below. Typical Duties Coordinate all student extra-curricular organizations and activities. Maintain a master student activities calendar; schedule assemblies, class and club meetings, and all extra-curricular activities. Arrange for all lodging and meals for clubs and teams when appropriate. Arrange for transportation for all activities. Make recommendations, when requested to do so, to the principal as to the appropriateness of the staff assigned. Assist in assignment of class, club, and activity sponsors. Record and file information concerning all organizations and activities (constitutions, membership lists, offices, etc.) Responsible for coordinating concessions workers and checking the operations of each approved club or activity. Assist the student council in approving and supervising an annual action program for approved clubs. Establish all game and practice schedules and areas. Supervise tickets and sales; aid ticket manager; recommend assignments for workers; recommend changes in method. Establish an Athletic Handbook. Attend all home activities and athletic events (or arrange for a substitute). Recommend individuals for a master list ofcomplementary and tournament tickets, issue tickets from other schools to coaches for scouting purposes. Procure completed parental consent forms from all students who participate in the athletic program. Supervise all aspects of the eligibility procedure in accordance with MHSA. Collect and interpret inventories from each sport at the c ompletion of the scheduled season. Serve as a liaison between members of athletic department and administration and other individuals or organizations. Arrange for officials to be present at all scheduled home contests and payment of such officials. Inform all involved persons of the necessity for physicals. Perform additional duties in related areas as directed by the administration. Observe and evaluate the job performance of extracurricular personnel in conjunction with Libby Middle/High School Assistant Principal. Personal and Professional Qualifications Be a certified teacher on the staff of Libby Middle/High School. Have an understanding of budgeting and financial record keeping. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with administrators, staff, parents, and students. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
