Location Detail MMH-71 Haynes Street (10627) Sign on bonus eligible Position Summary Under the direction of a Workflow Coordinator, Manager/Supervisor, or Team Leader, the Clinical Nurse Educator performs or assists in radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. The role includes performing and assisting in a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, a good knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and thorough technical knowledge of equipment. The educator assumes responsibility for a designated area or procedure as required. Competencies Ability to speak, read and write using the English language. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish are desirable but not required. Advanced math skills in physics to understand and set the level of radiologic exposure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards, protocols and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut. Exhibit proficiency in conducting routine radiographic procedures and fluoroscopic exams, including gastro‑intestinal studies, ERCPs, arthrography, hysterosalpingography, urography and portable X‑ray equipment including C‑Arm procedures. Provide proper clinical patient care while performing diagnostic procedures. Provide careful critique and assessment of image quality. Exhibit accuracy in computer documentation. Mentor students in the clinical and ethical aspects of the Radiologic Technologist profession. Maintain stock levels and personal protective equipment of assigned stations. Maintain constant awareness of infection control standards. Work cooperatively as a member of the team. Perform miscellaneous duties as may be required. Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board and obtain a State of Connecticut license to practice radiographic technical procedures within 3 months of graduation. Must acquire the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU) to maintain licensure. Must hold Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire and maintain clinical competency. Experience Must be fully knowledgeable and capable of performing independently in at least two modalities. Must have complete working knowledge of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique and radiation protection as it relates to radiology practice.
