Senior Accountant (New York City Metropolitan Area)

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports, supporting schedules, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Support management company accounting activities and resolve accounting and reporting questions.
• Apply accounting guidance and maintain effective internal controls and documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors on financial information and business initiatives.
• Improve accounting workflows, reporting procedures, and financial systems.
• Assist with accounting projects and identify opportunities to reduce manual work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
• 2–8 years of relevant accounting experience within financial services or public accounting.
• Public accounting experience serving financial services clients, or a combination of public and private accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Experience with management company or corporate accounting preferred.
• Ability to manage projects independently, resolve accounting issues, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience improving accounting processes or financial systems a plus.
