Cost Accountant

Role Description This is a remote role for a Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing and managing financial data, preparing financial statements, preparing proformas, and more. The duties for this position are as follows: Prepare proformas for existing and potential branches. Collect and analyze operational cost data for mortgage lending activities, including loan origination, servicing, and branch P&Ls. Establish and monitor cost standards for mortgage processes, compare actual costs to budgets, and report variances to management. Prepare monthly P&Ls for each branch and/or division. Reconcile accounts and provide documentation to examiners and auditors. Prepare Loan Officer, Branch Manager, and other Compensation Agreements. Maintain and update accounting records including loan data, disbursements, receipts, and expense vouchers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Prior mortgage experience specifically related to Branch/Division P&Ls, Proformas, and Compensation Agreements is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of cost accounting principles.
