JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician assists with operations and supports the functions of the school. This position performs general facility maintenance through the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems.

Reports to the Director of Operations. No supervisory responsibilities.

JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician assists with operations and supports the functions of the school. This position performs general facility maintenance through the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works afternoon/evening shift from 1pm to 9pm Monday through Friday, and weekends as needed.
- Completes work orders as assigned to repair areas of the campus and performs improvements as needed. Examples of work orders include shelving repairs, drywall repairs, painting, plumbing leaks, clogged toilets, etc.
- Sets up for school events and everyday school functions, including staging, seating, projector screens, and tables.
- Assists in maintaining the appearance of the school's main buildings, outbuildings, and grounds, including snow removal and salting.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as grinders, drills, table saws, routers, miter saws, fabrication equipment, and hand tools.
- Follows all safety procedures and immediately reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents or incidents to the supervisor.
- Actively participates in continuous quality improvement, looks for ways to make things better, and listens to and shares ideas.
- Takes initiative and identifies things that need to be done.
- Shares thoughts, ideas, and suggestions and provides input when requested.
- Accepts responsibility for doing a job the right way and admits to and learns from mistakes.
- Is open to new ideas, different points of view, and changes.
- Practices good stewardship and uses resources wisely and responsibly.
- Seeks opportunities to grow skills and knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY
- Education/Experience : High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification/Licensure : Class E driver's license required.
- Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Physical Requirements/Essential Functions : Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including climbing stairs and ladders; lifting and carrying tools, equipment, supplies, and other materials weighing up to 50 pounds; and performing assigned duties in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Other Required Characteristics : Must possess knowledge of maintenance operations, hand and power tools, and mechanical ability. Must have the ability to self-motivate.
