Role Description: The Coal Laboratories Tech is a full-time, on-site role located in Douglas, WY. This role is responsible for performing coal sampling, preparing samples, and conducting routine laboratory tests in accordance with established methods and safety procedures. Daily tasks include operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and verifying test results, and assisting with quality control checks to ensure data accuracy. The tech will follow standard operating procedures, handle samples and reagents safely, and help maintain a clean, organized work area. Collaboration with other laboratory team members and clear communication with supervisors are essential to meeting production and quality goals.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including sample preparation, handling, and basic testing procedures.
• Candidates should possess experience working with laboratory equipment, including operation, routine maintenance, and safe handling.
• Candidates should possess quality control skills, with attention to procedures, documentation, and data integrity.
• Candidates should possess analytical skills, including the ability to interpret results, troubleshoot basic issues, and follow detailed instructions.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with the responsibilities of laboratory technicians, including working in a team-based, production-focused environment.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (technical or science coursework preferred), basic math skills, ability to lift and move samples as required, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Previous experience in coal, mining, environmental, or industrial laboratories is a plus, as is proficiency with basic computer and data entry software.
