Position Overview The GCP Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform technologies, modern data architectures, real-time data processing, and large-scale data engineering practices. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, analysts, and data scientists to understand and translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. Design, develop, deploy, and support high-performance data pipelines for batch and real-time processing. Build and maintain data models, semantic layer objects, and enterprise data platform components. Optimize data pipelines, workflows, and queries for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment of data products. Ensure data quality by identifying issues, creating remediation plans, and partnering with business and technical teams to resolve root causes. Document architecture designs, data flows, operational procedures, and support strategies. Capture and maintain data lineage, metadata, and governance-related information. Troubleshoot and resolve data engineering and platform-related challenges. Develop REST APIs and data services for internal consumers and applications. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices. Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, ETL/ELT Development, Data Management, or Analytics Engineering. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong experience with: BigQuery Cloud Composer (Airflow) Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Dataflow Datastream Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python. Experience building and managing Airflow workflows, DAGs, and orchestration frameworks. Strong experience in query tuning and performance optimization. Experience implementing real-time data ingestion solutions using: Google Pub/Sub Kafka Spark Similar streaming technologies Experience implementing CI/CD processes and deployment automation. Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data solutions in Agile environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage frameworks. Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices. Familiarity with distributed data processing technologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Previous experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical leadership initiatives.
