Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary-aged students with mild to moderate needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a special education professional looking for a supportive school-based assignment with a very small caseload   and dedicated planning time each day.

Assignment Details

• Setting: Elementary school
• Student Population: Elementary-aged students with mild to moderate needs
• School Assignments: 1 school
• Caseload: Very small
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM–4:15 PM
• Planning Time: 90 minutes of prep time each day
• Lunch: 45-minute daily lunch
• Responsibilities: Typical special education teacher duties, including instruction, student support, documentation, collaboration, and implementation of IEPs

Part-Time Option

Part-time candidates are welcome to apply. Part-time candidates must be available to work Monday–Friday for half days.

Qualifications

• New York State Special Education teaching license required
• Certification to teach Grades 1–6 required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students and mild to moderate disabilities preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to supporting students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
