Part-Time or Weekend Veterinary Technician

Urban Animal Veterinary Hospital | Houston Heights, TX
Pay Range: $19–$21 per hour, based on experience

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments

• Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, and pet wellness

• Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples

• Calculate and prepare medication dosages

• Administer medications and treatments

• Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs

• Prepare patients for surgery and assist with procedures

• Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs

• Obtain diagnostic radiographs

• Triage and assist with urgent and emergency cases

• Maintain accurate medical records

• Maintain equipment and treatment areas

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience

• Experience in general practice, emergency, specialty, or a combination of veterinary settings

• Strong technical and critical-thinking skills

• Excellent communication and client education skills

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented

• Open availability for part-time or weekend shifts
