ADON - Assistant Director of Nursing SNF

Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) – Elderwood at Lancaster Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – RN) to lead nursing excellence, support a talented team, and ensure the highest quality of care for our residents. Responsibilities Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily nursing operations and ensure exceptional resident outcomes. Supervise and develop nursing staff—fostering engagement, accountability, and professional growth. Serve as Infection Control Preventionist, leading compliance and safety initiatives. Participate in audits, quality improvement, interdisciplinary care planning. Step in as Director of Nursing when needed to ensure continuity of leadership and care. Support staffing, onboarding, and training—maintaining 24-hour nursing coverage. Recruit, interview, select, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel; recommend suspensions or terminations as required. Ensure adequate 24-hour nursing coverage; manage staffing levels per resident needs. Ensure nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from approved training programs. Assist the DON in determining staffing needs; recommend number and level of personnel. Resolve personnel problems and build employee motivation. Develop work assignments and duty schedules; delegate administrative authority to charge nurses and nurse supervisors. Supervise admissions and readmissions; coordinate Medicare and therapeutic services; monitor resident progress; notify providers on eligibility. Make daily rounds; report findings to DON. Maintain resident environment; assess residents' condition and care needs; monitor medication passes and treatments; report medication errors. Provide direct nursing care; frequently check residents who cannot call for help. Qualifications Degree in Nursing from an accredited school; Bachelor’s preferred. Active, unencumbered RN license in the state. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in hospital, long-term care, or related setting; previous long-term care experience desirable. Knowledge of geriatric complex care, management, supervision, organizational behavior, communication systems. Good physical and mental health; valid driver’s license if company vehicle required. Computer proficiency preferred. Intermediate or advanced English communication skills. Benefits Competitive salary up to $110,000 per year.
