They work closely with the kitchen staff and servers to coordinate food orders and maintain high standards of service.Essential Job Functions:Food Delivery:Retrieve food orders from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables in a timely manner.Ensure that each dish is accurately presented and matches the customer's order.Coordinate with servers to ensure that all items for a table are delivered together.Table Maintenance:Assist in setting up and clearing tables before and after meal service.Ensure that tables are properly set with condiments, utensils, and other necessary items.Clear empty plates, glasses, and other used items from tables promptly to maintain a clean and organized dining environment.Communication:Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other restaurant team members to ensure smooth coordination of food orders.Relay any special requests or modifications to food orders to the kitchen staff accurately.Inform servers or managers of any issues or concerns related to food quality, presentation, or customer satisfaction.Customer Service:Provide friendly and attentive service to customers, greeting them warmly and answering any questions about the menu or specials.Anticipate and respond promptly to customers' needs, ensuring a positive dining experience.Handle customer inquiries or requests courteously and professionally.Quality Control:Inspect food orders before delivery to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards.Verify the accuracy of each order against the ticket to prevent errors or discrepancies.Notify kitchen staff or management of any quality issues or discrepancies in food orders.Safety and Hygiene:Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.Handle food items and serving utensils with care to avoid spills or accidents.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the food running area and other work areas.The Food Runner is an essential member of the restaurant team, ensuring the efficient and seamless delivery of food orders to customers.
