Location: Worcester, Massachusetts Facility: UMass Memorial Health UMass Memorial Medical Center Department: Department of Medicine Specialty: Division of Infectious Diseases Schedule: Full-time UMass Memorial Health, the largest healthcare system in Central Massachusetts and the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, invites applications for a board-certified or board-eligible Infectious Disease physician to serve as Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control within UMass Memorial Medical Center. About The Role The Associate Medical Director will provide leadership within the Infection Prevention and Control program while maintaining active clinical practice in Infectious Diseases. This individual will work closely with institutional leadership and infection prevention specialists to advance strategic initiatives focused on patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the physician will serve as an attending on inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease services, with the opportunity to practice in general Infectious Diseases and/or Transplant Infectious Diseases. Key Highlights Provide physician leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of Infection Prevention and Control programs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance system-wide initiatives in patient safety and quality improvement Support ongoing efforts that have established UMass Memorial Medical Center as a leader in infection prevention, including maintaining low rates of healthcare-associated infections Participate in inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease clinical services Contribute to institutional education and training related to infection prevention practicesCompetitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package Clinical And Programmatic Environment UMass Memorial Medical Center is a major tertiary referral center serving a population of over one million patients and offers a broad and complex clinical environment, including: A comprehensive solid organ transplant program (60+ liver and 100+ kidney transplants annually) Active bone marrow and stem cell transplantation programs A growing ventricular assist device (VAD) program Our HIV program is a recipient of Ryan White Part C funding A designated Level I Trauma Center Academic Appointment & Scholarly Activity This position includes an academic appointment at UMass Chan Medical School at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
