Product Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of assigned lumber products — from purchasing and inventory management to pricing, vendor relationships, and sales support. This is a critical role for someone with a strong background in the lumber industry who can drive product strategy, optimize inventory, and support continued business growth. Responsibilities Manage assigned product lines from purchasing through sales and ongoing performance. Develop pricing strategies and maintain product pricing for the sales team. Support daily sales efforts and help develop special sales programs and promotions. Introduce new products and coordinate product training for employees and customers. Purchase inventory and maintain optimal stock levels based on demand, inventory turns, aging goals, and company budgets. Monitor inventory performance, budgeting, and return on assets (ROA). Lead and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counting activities. Build relationships with existing vendors while identifying and onboarding new supplier partners. Research market trends and customer needs to identify new product opportunities. Collaborate across departments to improve product performance and profitability. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience preferred. Experience in the lumber industry, including vendor and supplier relationships. Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, pricing, and product profitability. Experience managing inventory metrics such as turns, aging, and forecasting. Ability to analyze business performance and make data-driven decisions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both vendors and internal teams. Highly organized with excellent follow-up and attention to detail. Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
