This role involves working with team members across the organization, enhancing controls throughout business processes, maintaining compliance with company policies and financial regulations, and identifying opportunities to further improve business processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-starter, and skilled in leadership and process improvement.ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end close process to ensure complete, accurate, and timely reporting and accelerating the month-end close timelinePrepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations across fixed assets, inventory, and revenue & receivables processes and ensure retention of supporting documentationServe as an accounting resource for operational and technical matters, clearly communicating requirements to non-finance partnersWork cross-functionally across departments on enhancing internal controls throughout business processes and ensure adherence to Company policies, including identifying improvements to existing Company policiesEnhance and maintain Accounting's chart of accounts and ensure proper coding and classification of transactions amongst customer programs, R&D projects, and G&AExecute and maintain highly-quality work to ensure accuracy and completeness of the Company's financial statementsParticipate in ERP implementations and UAT as necessary across various accounting and manufacturing systemsSupport various ad-hoc finance and other accounting activities as neededLiaise with external auditors and tax preparers as part of annual financial statement audit and other tax compliance filings, respectivelyQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experienceExperience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft D365, Ramp, Bill.com, MaintainX) and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsHands-on and detail-oriented, with willingness to handle transactional tasks as well as strategic projectsAbility to multi-task and prioritize across projects and learn quicklyExcellent written and oral skills for effective communication with internal teams and external contactsNice to HavePrior experience in the aerospace, satellite, manufacturing, telecommunications, or defense industries or high velocity start-up environmentsPrior background in public accountingActive CPA licenseExperience utilizing AI tools as part of month-end close and day-to-day accounting activitiesCompensation and Benefits:Base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 + equity in the companySalary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience levelComprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perksIf you don't meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply!
