What You'll Need

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active state license is required to start the assignment
• Current CEUs
• Current BLS certification
• Current certification(s) as required for specialty (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
• Proficient English language oral and written communication skills

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications (Client Specific)

• Active, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 12 years of acute care experience in ICU, ED, PACU, or a Cardiovascular ICU/Telemetry unit.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred or required based on facility demographics.
• Experience providing care in pre-op and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation, weekend, and holiday schedule as required by facility needs.

What You'll Do

• Provide skilled, compassionate pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for surgical, interventional radiology, bronchoscopy, and interventional cardiology patients.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of patient status through admission to discharge.
• Safely administer medications, infusions, and blood products per provider orders and facility safety protocols.
• Manage specialized needs of patients undergoing surgery or cardiac/vascular catheterization procedures.
• Act as a liaison between surgeons, interventionalists, anesthesiologists, and patient families to ensure continuity and safety of care.
• Document nursing care thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner per facility standards of practice.
• Adapt care and provide patient teaching that accounts for cultural, religious, emotional, psychosocial, physical, and cognitive needs.
• Communicate patient condition regularly with appropriate personnel throughout shifts and at handover.
