Job Summary and Qualifications We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Unit. In this role you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to respiratory, dialysis, renal, and surgical patients. Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis. Administer medications as ordered, demonstrating knowledge of their modes of action, side effects, and contraindications. Initiate, regulate, and otherwise manage IV therapy for assigned patients. Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider the complexity of nursing care required by each patient. Evaluate the patient environment for safety and communicate identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner. Provide patient education and keep the patient informed of the treatment plan. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association required (BLS). Complies with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs. Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital Med‑Surg experience required. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada. Independently maintains license.
