Lead Technician

Lead Field Service TechnicianWe are seeking a hands-on Lead Field Service Technician to install, service, and lead field work across radio systems, IP cameras, access control, LPR systems, vehicle installs, antennas, and low-voltage infrastructure. This is a working field role for someone who takes pride in the craft, stays active on the tools, and can lead a crew when needed.This role is not for someone looking to step away from hands-on work. You will be in the truck, on the ladder, on rooftops, in basements, and under dashboards doing the job alongside the team. While deep backend programming is handled by other specialists, this person will serve as the senior installer on larger projects and the on-site lead when jobs require it.What You'll DoInstall, commission, and service two-way radio, camera, access control, LPR, vehicle, and low-voltage systems.Pull, terminate, and test cabling in commercial, public safety, and government environments.Perform vehicle and RF installations, including antennas, radios, sirens, lightbars, and related equipment.Complete baseline radio programming as needed and escalate more complex programming when appropriate.Lead multi-day or multi-person install jobs, keeping work organized, efficient, and on schedule.Coordinate with project managers, office staff, and sales to ensure materials, site readiness, and customer expectations are aligned.Represent the company professionally on-site and handle customer communication throughout the job.Complete documentation, service orders, and job closeout accurately and promptly.Maintain vehicles, tools, and test equipment in working order.Participate in on-call rotation as needed.What Success Looks LikeInstalls are completed on time, to specification, and with strong craftsmanship.Jobs are done right the first time, with clean work and complete documentation.Customers experience a professional, organized crew and feel confident in the company.Larger projects close smoothly with customer sign-off and minimal rework.Field issues are identified early and communicated clearly.Who You AreExperienced in hands-on installation and service work involving radio, camera, low-voltage, or similar systems.Comfortable leading a crew while still doing the physical work yourself.Confident working at heights, on lifts, on rooftops, in basements, and under vehicles.Strong with hand tools, power tools, test equipment, ladders, and cabling.Clear, professional communicator who is organized and accountable.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Comfortable learning new systems, tools, and company software.Valid driver's license and ability to pass required background and drug screening.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of relevant field installation experience.Prior lead tech, foreman, or crew chief experience.Experience with Motorola, Kenwood, L3Harris, or similar systems.Experience with LPR, CCTV, access control, or other low-voltage/security installs.Industry certifications such as OSHA, tower, lift, or manufacturer training.
