Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is an integral part of the Quality team within Silgan Plastics. This Quality Engineer will conduct several different types of analysis, testing and follow‑up. Also, consistently ensuring that machines are set up correctly and reading measurements properly. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Promote a safe working environment. Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co‑workers. SPC implementation and system management. Assist Quality Manager and plant staff in managing the system and initial implementation. Facilitate activities and data review during mold qualifications. Facilitate activities and data review during process capability analysis. Initiate internal audits and control of audit documentation. Manage the AVBIS system, set‑ups, maintenance, etc. Assist in procedural training. First article data analysis. Last shot data analysis. Control last shot follow‑up requirements. Daily review of Quality documentation and data. Follow‑up online issues as a result of documentation review and as directed by the Quality Manager. Other duties assigned by the Quality Manager. EDUCATION Required: Associates. Preferred: Bachelors in a technical field. EXPERIENCE Required: 5 years in a Quality related field, strong SPC knowledge, manufacturing experience. Preferred: 5 years as a Quality Engineer in a plastics manufacturing environment. SKILLS SPC. Measuring equipment and devices. Daily data analysis. Extremely strong Microsoft Suite experience, including Excel. Strong working knowledge of SPC and Quality experience in a manufacturing facility. Auditing experience (preferred).
