Peer Counselor (Parent Partner) Tacoma, WA About the Employer Catholic Community Services, Family Behavioral Health is a family‑oriented behavioral health care provider serving children, youth, and families in their homes and communities throughout Western Washington. Job Summary Peer Counselors (Parent Partners) collaborate, provide support, and help facilitate services for youth and their families receiving Family Behavioral Health Services. Working as a member of a team, the Peer Counselor (Parent Partner) helps a parent voice their own perspective and ensures that other team members understand and integrate that perspective into treatment planning. This position helps youth, parents, and families achieve confidence in their ability to work together on a recovery journey and maintain hope for success after formal behavioral health services have been completed. The role emphasizes outcomes with children, youth, and families by actively partnering with them and with their community supports to achieve long‑term safety and stability. The position is based out of the FBH Northend Tacoma office and requires scheduling flexibility for services in community settings and family homes. Responsibilities Peer Counselors (Parent Partners) are individuals with personal history as a parent of a youth/child who has previously received behavioral health, child welfare, complex medical coordination or juvenile justice services. They use that personal experience to build support with families. Successful applicants must have first‑person experience as a parent of a youth who received system services and be prepared to share their experiences with youth, parents, and other team members. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Age 21 or older. Personal experience as a parent of a child who has been or is receiving community/mental health services within the past ten years. Ability to drive to family homes within the community with reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record per CCS policy. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to visually assess safety within family homes and the community. Availability to flex some work hours. Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multicultural settings. Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment. Pay Starting Pay Range: $25.18 – $27.07 per hour First Responder pay: $75.00 per pay period (2 times per month) Additional performance‑based pay available. Training and Supervision Extensive training (WISe, De‑Escalation, etc.) Daily supervision and support, as needed.
