Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team for a night shift position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in respiratory therapy, including both acute care and long-term care settings.

Shift Details

Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (Nights)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Responsibilities

Floating between long-term care and acute care as needed
Performing patient assessments and administering respiratory treatments
Utilizing specialized equipment including Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60
Managing ventilator care, including weaning from mechanical ventilation
Conducting procedures such as ABG sampling and sputum specimen collection
Providing tracheostomy care and response to respiratory emergencies

Qualifications

Must have an active RRT license in hand
Required certifications: BLS, RRT
Experience in adult critical care, emergency department, and long-term care settings
Proficient in performing intubation assistance, extubation, oral/nasal airway placement, and suctioning techniques
Familiarity with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms

Additional Information

A personal vehicle is required for this role due to the rural nature of the locations involved. The candidate must be flexible in scheduling and willing to float to different facilities as needed.
