Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator manages daily inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure materials are received, shipped, and documented accurately and on schedule. This role coordinates with suppliers, carriers, production teams, and internal departments to maintain efficient material flow, optimize freight costs, and support customer requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations, including inbound and outbound freight schedules
Ensure accuracy of shipment documentation, including BOLs, load sheets, labels, ASNs, and receiving paperwork
Manage and track returnable containers, pallets, racks, totes, bins, and other shipping materials
Partner with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to improve freight efficiency and reduce transportation costs
Optimize loads and coordinate carrier pickups, deliveries, and transportation schedules
Monitor inventory levels and support accurate material movement throughout the facility
Process EDI releases and communicate shipment requirements to production and inventory teams
Maintain accurate shipping records and data entry within company systems
Provide direction and support to forklift operators and material handlers as needed
Safely operate forklifts and cranes to load, unload, and move materials
Ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements and internal procedures
Support continuous improvement efforts related to logistics, freight, and material handling processes

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or manufacturing operations
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications
SAP or ERP system experience preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Forklift certification required or ability to obtain
Experience with manufacturing shipping processes and procedures preferred
