Staff Pharmacist Opportunity
An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support multiple pharmacy locations within a healthcare system serving Ventura County. This full-time role involves providing expert pharmaceutical care across three key sites: the main medical center, a hospital pharmacy, and an infusion center. Flexibility and adaptability are important as the pharmacist will float among these locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and prepare medications accurately across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Manage hazardous medications, including compounding chemotherapy agents, following safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Operate and maintain pharmacy systems, with training available for Cerner electronic health records
- Work variable shifts including 8 to 10-hour days, swing shifts, every other weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
- Travel between sites within the local area to support pharmacy services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current pharmacy licensure and relevant experience as a Staff Pharmacist
- Familiarity with Cerner pharmacy systems is advantageous, with training provided
- Experience handling hazardous medications and compounding chemotherapy preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel between pharmacy locations regularly
- Local candidates strongly preferred due to travel requirements
Schedule:
- Full-time hours, varying between 8-hour and 10-hour shifts depending on site
- Includes swing shifts, weekend rotations, and holiday coverage
