If yes, Lakemary is looking for a Cook for our Food Service Program. In this role you will prepare entrees and dishes for full meal preparation. This role functions under general supervision of a Registered Dietitian.Cook Responsibilities:Nutrition:Meet the nutritional needs of residentsMeet individual, cultural, and religious food preferences of the residents.Portion out food, cut to size for appropriate servings according to portion control standardsUnderstanding food preparation and services.Prepares and cooks food and bakery goods using the standardized recipes and safe food handling practices. Prepares and cooks food to meet special dietary needsPreparation:Works on the tray line during lunch. Ensure proper portions.Assist with meal preparation.Utilizes and properly rotates food items. Practices first in first out.An ideal candidate for this position has:Knowledge of:Food quality standards and health, sanitation, and safety procedures.Foods and food preparation.The operation and care of kitchen equipment.Safety and sanitary measures involved in meat handling.Materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing and serving food on a large scale.The principles of inventory control.Ability to:Lift and carry heavy objects.Understand, learn and follow instructions and procedures, both orally and in writing.Accurately weigh and measure ingredients.Understand and follow standardized recipes.Perform basic math computations; to accurately weigh and measure ingredients.Operate an oven.Work long hours in rooms at high temperatures.To keep records.Cook Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED or equivalentBe at least 18+ years of agePrior food service experience preferredOther Job Details:Wage: $15.00-$16.50 /hour, based on experienceLakemary provides competitive compensation and benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans; paid time off; and a 401(k)-retirement planCertifications:Lakemary provides training in program specific coursework.Special Considerations:Some environments/shifts require same sex staff due to regulatory requirements.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.
