Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry with required travel experience and pre cardiac cath/port management skills for a day shift assignment.

Details

Work in the Telemetry unit supporting ED boarders awaiting inpatient beds

Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Schedule includes 4 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays) plus 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays within a 6-week period

Float required between Edgewood and Florence campuses and to Observation, MS, and MS Tele units as needed

Uses Epic EMR

Patient ratio of 1:5-6

No on-call requirements

Requirements

Active KY or Compact RN license required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Experience with pre cardiac cath and port accessing/management required

Epic EMR experience required

Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration

Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care

Minimum of 2 supervisory references required

COVID vaccination (medical/religious exemptions only) and flu vaccination required

Additional Information

Provide telemetry-level care to patients boarding in the ED awaiting inpatient placement

Support care for cardiac, neurological, and general medical-surgical patient populations

Navy blue scrubs required with no agency or brand logos permitted

Natural, trimmed fingernails required for direct patient care (polish acceptable)

No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted

No on-site cafeteria, though refrigerator and microwave are available

Free parking available in unrestricted spaces

Holiday coverage expected, with only one holiday permitted for RTO request

Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at a reduced rate

Returning staff must be away from full-time, part-time, or per diem employment for at least one year before returning as a traveler

After one year on assignment, a 90-day system break is required before returning as a traveler

Candidates who have applied for or are in process for a permanent role with the health system within the past 6 months are not eligible
