Kitchen Shift Lead

Reports To: Executive Chef and/or General Manager
Job Type: Full-time

Foodshed is looking for a hands-on Kitchen Shift Lead to help keep daily kitchen operations organized, efficient, and running smoothly.

This is a working leadership position. The Shift Lead works alongside the team across stations including pizza/tasca, contorni, prep, and dishwashing while helping ensure food quality, production, cleanliness, and service standards are maintained throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the kitchen team and step into any station as needed.

• Help organize production and keep service moving efficiently.

• Make sure stations are stocked, organized, and prepared for service.

• Provide day-to-day direction to team members based on established procedures.

• Monitor food quality, portions, presentation, and recipe consistency.

• Help maintain ticket times and identify areas that need additional support.

• Ensure food safety, sanitation, labeling, and cleaning procedures are followed.

• Help newer employees learn stations and kitchen procedures.

• Ensure opening, closing, and shift responsibilities are completed.

• Communicate staffing, equipment, production, or performance concerns to management.

Qualifications

• Professional kitchen experience required.

• Lead cook or shift lead experience preferred.

• Comfortable working multiple kitchen stations.

• Reliable, organized, and able to work effectively during busy shifts.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed.
