Union Utility Engineer

Job Overview The Union Utility Engineer is an entry‑level engineering position attached to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between JLL and the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 39. Responsibilities Repair restroom equipment such as toilets, soap dispenser & flushometers. Repair registers and radiators. Replace lamps and clean light fixtures. Remove and replace ceiling tiles. Complete minor repairs on furniture and floors. Maintain and/or replace door hardware. Repair floor maintenance equipment. Complete maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other building facilities. Replace air filters in the HVAC equipment. Perform general cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units. Clean equipment in engine room and shop. Perform miscellaneous repair work requiring the limited use of hand tools. Replace/inspect fire extinguishers. General plumbing repairs and maintenance. Clean air vents and roof drains. Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements / Work Environment Proper lifting of equipment, materials & tools up to 50lbs.; ability to hear and see audible and visual alarms; ability to detect changes in noise levels of operating or rotating equipment while performing rounds; ability to effectively use portable radios and cell phones; occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, standing or sitting; climbing stairs and ladders; working on ladders or catwalks including hands above or below head and body; working outdoors sometimes exposed to inclement weather. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience and/or trade school training. Driver's license and clean driving record. Strong communication skills. Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to problem‑solve down to the root cause. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency with Personal Computers, PDAs, Smart Phones to operate within the Work Order System, Email and training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Compensation Estimated annual compensation: $83,428.00 – $83,428.80 USD. Location On-site – Sunnyvale, CA. Benefits 401(k) plan with matching company contributions.
