Ultrasonographer

PRN Summary: The Ultrasonographer is responsible for the scheduling, performance, and quality of ultrasound examinations. Responsibilities Performs all Ultrasound procedures to capture images of internal organs and tissues for diagnosis and treatment of medical problems according to protocols and age‑specific needs. Responsible for the scheduling, performance, and quality of ultrasound examinations. Assist in interventional radiology (IR) cases as well as ultrasound‑guided procedures. Communicate with physicians, offices, nursing units, radiologists, and other staff to ensure efficient daily operation of the department. Perform clerical duties in hospital computer systems associated with the department. Rotate call in the Ultrasound department as needed. Follow all QA/QC guidelines for all equipment. Other duties as required. Technical Expertise Experience in ultrasonography is required. Experience in healthcare is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Epic or similar EMR software is required. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasonography is required. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) is required. Registry eligible within two years of hire to obtain ultrasound registration in Pediatrics; noncompliance may result in termination. BLS certification is required.
