Membership Coordinator

The Florida Dental Association (FDA) is seeking a relationship-oriented, highly organized Membership Coordinator to support members and prospective members in two of Florida’s six geographic districts. This is a relationship-building and outreach position—not a commission-based sales role. The ideal candidate will enjoy initiating conversations, researching members and prospects, providing personalized assistance, and maintaining accurate records. Much of the work is performed behind the scenes through phone calls, emails, text messages, research, follow-up and database management. Primary Responsibilities Manage an assigned portfolio of members and prospects in two geographic districts. Conduct at least 50+ outbound calls weekly to welcome, recruit, engage and retain members. Research members and prospects to support personalized outreach. Build relationships through consistent follow-up by phone, email and text. Respond to questions about membership, dues, benefits, programs and services. Support membership renewals and targeted recruitment and retention campaigns. Maintain accurate, timely records in the membership database. Develop expertise in FDA, district and American Dental Association benefits and services. Participate in occasional dental school, member and association events. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be comfortable initiating frequent outbound calls. This person should enjoy research, detailed follow-up and behind-the-scenes work; communicate warmly and professionally; and remain persistent when calls or messages are not immediately returned. The role requires someone who can independently manage an assigned portfolio while contributing to a collaborative team. Qualifications Associate degree or higher preferred; relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree. Experience in membership, customer success, account management, recruitment, inside sales, fundraising or another outreach-focused role preferred. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and comfort with online and database research. Experience with a CRM or association management system; Salesforce or Fonteva experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and travel approximately two to four times annually. Compensation and Benefits Starting Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annually This is a full-time, on-site position at the Florida Dental Association headquarters, 545 John Knox Road, Suite 200, Tallahassee, Florida. It is not eligible for remote work.
