Supply Chain Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to support material planning, supplier coordination, and inventory management activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods needed to meet production schedules and operational demands. The Supply Chain Specialist will work cross-functionally with purchasing, planning, production, engineering, warehouse, and logistics teams to monitor supplier performance, track purchase orders, identify potential supply chain disruptions, and proactively resolve material shortages. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, supplier relationship management experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing or operations environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitor purchase orders and supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery. Track order status, lead times, shortages, and delivery delays. Communicate directly with suppliers regarding production schedules, shipment status, and delivery dates. Coordinate with purchasing, planning, warehouse, production, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure material availability. Identify potential supply disruptions and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders. Follow up on past-due orders and develop recovery plans to minimize operational impact. Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, supplier commitments, and inventory transactions within ERP/MRP systems. Review inventory requirements and prioritize critical materials to support production schedules. Coordinate transportation arrangements and shipment documentation as needed. Resolve discrepancies involving quantities, specifications, pricing, and delivery commitments. Provide regular status reports and delivery updates to internal stakeholders. Support supplier performance measurement and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure incoming materials meet required quality, quantity, and delivery standards. Assist with development of specifications for new contract orders. Perform additional supply chain and materials management duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 2 to 5 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, logistics, materials management, or order expediting. Experience tracking purchase orders, supplier commitments, lead times, and delivery schedules. Experience communicating with suppliers and resolving late, incomplete, or delayed deliveries. Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software tools. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Preferred Qualifications APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain certification. Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or industrial operations environments. Knowledge of inventory control, materials planning, and supplier performance management. Note: The job posting references a 6-month minimum assignment.
