We are seeking a Radiology Technologist to become a part of our Urgent Care team!

In the role of Radiology Technologist, you will carry out both clinical and administrative tasks in accordance with our organizational policies and procedures. You will work under the guidance of a physician, handling patient intake, following standing orders or protocols, performing venipuncture, conducting laboratory tests, and ensuring patient follow-up. Additionally, you will administer medications—oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal—as directed by a provider, once you have demonstrated your competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or their designee. Certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) who are also Radiologic Technologists will perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. This position requires appropriate documentation in the medical record and aims to enhance patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Willingness to work at various locations within the system to fulfill all responsibilities across multiple entities.

  • Comply with our Code of Conduct and Compliance plan; adhere to governmental and accreditation standards, completing all required training, including but not limited to safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, general compliance, harassment, and service. Maintain cleanliness, stock, and sterilize equipment, as well as prepare patient rooms for care delivery. Provide patient care in alignment with policy while prioritizing safety and quality.

  • Adapt to new technologies and utilize the electronic health record effectively. Manage patient flow through consistent communication with patients and their families, showing genuine concern for their time and comfort. Conduct additional testing and care in line with our practices, including spirometry/PFTs, measuring patient vitals and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under the supervision of the medical provider. Make follow-up calls regarding lab tests, patient experiences, and clinical results in a professional manner.

  • Perform venipuncture and selected patient and laboratory tests (point of care); initiate care pathways according to policy. Conduct X-rays as per medical provider orders; send images to the appropriate radiologist for review; maintain X-ray equipment and follow safety protocols. Foster a respectful environment for patients, families, vendors, colleagues, and employers. Communicate in a professional manner.

  • Deliver care that aligns with our mission, vision, and values, fostering patient confidence and loyalty by exceeding expectations. Act as a patient escort throughout the care process and assist in patient discharge, ensuring clarity for the patient or their family members. Support new clinical and service initiatives; actively seek opportunities to enhance care and improve the patient experience.

  • Assist team members during downtime or delays in patient processing. Understand and engage in basic computer and patient intake tasks at the front desk. Support the medical provider in patient examinations, testing, and education. Under the supervision of the medical provider, prepare and administer oral medications and injections limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or their designee.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree.

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • Externship experience in a medical or ambulatory health environment.

  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in a medical office setting.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Certification.

  • Valid Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $29.73 - USD $53.49 per hour.
