Description

Performs a variety of duties for the cleaning and maintenance of the clinic. The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Supervisor is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Environment Services Supervisor provides direction, training, and schedule coordination for a group of Environmental Services Technicians. The Environmental Services Supervisor performs the duties of an Environmental Services Technician and cleans offices, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas, patient service areas and any other area that may need attention.


JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail.
2. Assists in the hiring process; interviews, hiring, and conducting performance evaluations. and training new associates.
3. Review and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel. Make recommendations to the director.
4. Counsel/discipline assigned personnel as requested or as necessary. Report such actions to the director.
5. Prepares work schedules and conducts daily operational processes.
6. Responsible for training and supervising all personnel.
7. Assist in preparing budgets, work reports, and other administrative guides.
8. Assist in the coordination of outside services (i.e. Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical and Solid Waste, Document Destruction, and Recycling program)
9. Manage performance including setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing, and developing skills, and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.
10. Ensures proper staff scheduling and /or is available to perform daily activities in areas of responsibility. Develops and posts employee schedules according to department policy. Coordinates and oversees the daily and weekly activities/tasks performed by staff in areas of responsibility. Updates and communicates job-flow changes of positions in areas of responsibility.
11. Orders supplies for department needs and monitors expenditures to maximize the use of resources in all department activities with the Director approval.
12. Contributes to team efforts; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow team members and others.
13. Handles non-routine/complex situations regarding department tasks.
14. Trains new Environmental Services team members.
15. Monitors and oversees assigned areas to ensure assignments are being completed within a timely manner.
16. Report areas of concern to the Director.
17. Inspect and maintains equipment daily to ensure proper usage
18. Cleans light fixtures, ceiling and vents, walls, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses' stations, patient service areas, business offices, front lobby areas, and waiting room areas.
19. Disposes of trash according to prescribed guidelines.
20. Replenishes paper and plastic products.
21. Moves furniture, supplies and equipment.
22. Realign furniture and amenities according to the prescribed layout.
23. Pushes/pulls cleaning cart or flatbed and carries buckets.
24. Operates equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
25. Maintains equipment and wears protective clothing as required by the work environment or safety regulations.
26. Communicate daily with applicable CARTI staff on cleaning and scheduling.
27. Complete Daily Task Sheet.
28. Respond to guest queries and requests.
29. Some travel to clinics for general cleaning as requested by management.
30. Performs other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a reliable source of transportation.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION:

1. High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)
2. Current valid Arkansas Driver's License

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

1. Minimum of one year of housekeeping experience required; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
2. Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role within an Environmental Services department (Required).
