Position Overview Registered Dietitian (RD) responsible for nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient diagnosis, nutrition focused physical exam and overall health status, identifies the proper nutrition regimen, places orders in the electronic health record, communicates the plan of care to all responsible parties, educates staff, patients, family and significant others on the nutrition plan of care, documents findings, and contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. The RD supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence‑based practice guidelines. Responsibilities Conduct nutritional assessment and intervention for hospitalized patients. Recommend appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on diagnosis, physical exam and overall health status. Identify proper nutrition regimen and place orders in the medical record. Communicate plan of care to all responsible parties. Educate staff, patients, family and significant others on nutrition plan of care. Document findings, orders and interventions in the electronic health record. Contribute to departmental achievements through process improvement. Support best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence‑based practice guidelines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) or CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. Additional Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (BSNT) required. Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration, and Florida State licensure (LD/N). Board certified in a nutrition related specialty OR Master's degree or higher. Position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention and care planning. Must have proven skills in excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer use and service excellence. Experience Minimum required experience: 3 years in a hospital clinical setting.
