Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer)Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer, Ultrasonographer) to support operations at the South Santa Rosa VA Clinic located at 2285 Challenger Way, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Ultrasound Technologists shall have in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potential. The technologists shall collect and communicate all pertinent clinical information to the Radiologist. The technologists shall explain exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirements. The technologists shall also work closely with other department technologists and continue quality improvement activities on a daily basis. Available shift schedules include days, evenings, and nights. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers' success as if it is their own.ResponsibilitiesMaintains in depth knowledge of ultrasound scanning and optimizing examination potentialCollects and communicates all pertinent clinical information to the RadiologistExplains exams to the patients as well as proper patient preparation requirementsWorks closely with other department technologists and continues quality improvement activities on a daily basisSets up radiographic suites and ensures that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and availablePrepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patient's condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), and reports any significant changes to a radiologistLifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as neededPerforms related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reportsAs required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) packageQualificationsEnglish language proficiencyRegistered or registry eligible in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), shall have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the specialized modality in a Level 1 hospital setting, and shall be able to work with minimal or no supervisionNote - Student internship and training time spent in a radiology setting does not count toward the two (2) years of experienceExperience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS), experience with Agfa PACS is preferred but not requiredAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is requiredNo sponsorship availableAll candidates must be able to:Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shiftLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waistLift up to 20 lbsCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distancePush/pull with 30 lbs of forceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
