About the Role We’re looking for an experienced operations leader to manage and scale our Robot Engineering Testing organization. In this role, you will oversee operators and team leads across multiple levels, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of testing and deployment activities. You will be responsible for driving operational performance, defining scalable systems and workflows, and aligning closely with engineering, product, and program teams. As a key leader within Dev Testing Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping how we validate and deploy autonomous technologies in real-world environments. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Own the testing operations organization, managing operators and team leads across multiple levels. Set the strategic vision for testing and deployment, aligning operations with engineering and product roadmaps Drive day-to-day operational performance, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution across environments Build and scale workflows, processes, and systems to support growing testing complexity and deployment needs Champion a strong safety culture, setting standards and ensuring consistent adherence across all operations Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, TPM, and deployment teams to improve system performance and readiness Leverage QA, data, and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement Develop and mentor team members and leaders, building a high-performing, accountable organization Represent testing operations in leadership discussions, providing insights and recommendations to guide strategy We’re excited about you because… 4+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or complex operational environments Proven experience leading teams and developing leaders in fast-paced, cross-functional settings Strong ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution Experience scaling operations, processes, and workflows in growing organizations Deep commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders Experience with data-driven decision-making and performance metrics Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Slack, Google Workspace, Linux, GitHub, or similar platforms Ability to adapt and lead effectively in dynamic, evolving environments Compensation Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location. DoorDash cares about you and your overall well-being. For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week). The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
