Foodservice Worker (Flex)

Foodservice Worker Location: Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) • Shift: Rotation (United States of America) • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 • Worker Type: Regular • Exemption Status: No Job Summary Performs routine tasks related to portioning and serving food and cleaning of tableware, equipment, or work area. Follows special cleaning and trash handling techniques as required by regulatory agencies. Ensures a professional and appropriate service standard while performing the job. Responsibilities Complete food preparation, packaging, and deliveries as needed. Clean and sanitize food service areas, equipment, and workspaces per management and regulatory agency standards. Take and record temperatures of food and storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers. Place food trays over warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated cabinets. Weigh or measure ingredients accurately. Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas. Handle cash when required. Read and interpret patient meal tickets, confirm patient identifiers, read recipes, ingredients, labels, and dating. Perform all duties within a clinical environment and comply with organization policies and procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – Preferred. Prior experience in food handling (prep, serving, cleaning, customer service) preferred. Computer literacy. Strong communication, teamwork, organization skills. Knowledge of clinical policies and food and nutrition services. Position Details Flex position (per diem, hours as needed). Non-benefits eligible. Hours will vary based on department staffing needs. Availability may include cash handling.
