Pay: $31.50–$33.75/hr

Locations & Schedule:

• Haltom City: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM; Saturdays as needed
• Rhome: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturdays as needed

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure the highest level of quality in the fabrication of poles and heavy structural steel assemblies. This position will work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure welded products meet customer specifications, drawings, and applicable AWS and AISC standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and in-process inspections of welded joints and heavy steel assemblies.
• Verify fabricated steel is welded according to shop drawings, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, project specifications, and customer requirements.
• Document inspection results and complete required quality and certification paperwork.
• Identify and assist with resolving quality issues and non-conformances.
• Work with production and QA/QC personnel to maintain quality standards and production flow.
• Assist the Quality Control Manager with the AISC quality program and annual AISC audits.
• Ensure production employees understand and follow applicable AISC standards.
• Work with the QA/QC team to plan and coordinate daily and weekly inspection activities.
• Assist shop employees with quality control questions and provide clarification when needed.
• Help maintain continuous improvement and quality control processes throughout production.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience working with welded heavy steel assemblies; inspection experience preferred.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
• Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings, particularly weld symbols.
• Working knowledge of AWS and AISC codes and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and follow established procedures and directions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to identify, document, and help resolve quality issues.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
