This position will support broader brand and marketing strategy while independently leading defined campaigns, initiatives, and workstreams from strategy through execution. This role sits at the intersection of brand, campaigns, content, digital, and creative strategy. The ideal candidate can move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on marketing—taking direction and turning it into actionable plans while also identifying opportunities, developing recommendations, and leading work forward. The Sr. Branding and Marketing Manager position will develop campaign briefs, messaging frameworks, audience strategies, competitive insights, and recommendations that inform marketing and creative direction. Partner with web and digital teams to connect campaign strategy to digital experiences, customer journeys. Monitor market trends, competitors, and campaign performance to identify opportunities and recommend improvements to strategy and execution.Traveling to the corporate headquarters: Tysons, VA on an as needed weekly basisEssential Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop innovative strategies and approaches to increase consumer awareness, understanding and engagement in government programs (e.g. Health Insurance, Child Support, Employment, Education).- Lead the planning and implementation of integrated communications strategies/tactics across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media.- Work hand-in-hand with MAXIMUS Project Teams and key stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver communication products and services.- Support business development initiatives and high level meetings with existing and potential future clients.- Manage Business Development activities for target accounts/markets (e.g., capture planning, proposal writing, pricing, partnerships).- Develop briefs and/or presentations in support of new business opportunities.- Maintain current understanding of trends and directions affecting the target health and/or human service markets.- Project Management.- Ensure sound management of client delivery: scope, approaches, timelines, budgets, resources and quality.- Manage profit and loss (P&L) for assigned accounts, markets or territories.- Manage resources including direct staff, consultants, vendors and/or subcontractors.Job Specific requirements:- 5-7 years of experience in brand strategy, integrated marketing, campaign strategy, content marketing, or related disciplines.- Experience developing and executing integrated B2B or B2G marketing campaigns.- Strong understanding of brand positioning, storytelling, audience strategy, content, digital marketing, and campaign development.- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and campaigns while working within a broader marketing strategy.- Ability to translate complex technology, business, or mission concepts into clear, compelling marketing narratives.- Strong strategic writing, presentation, and communication skills.- Ability to collaborate across creative, digital, content, social, communications, events, media, and business teams.- Proficient with Salesforce, HubSpot or other CRM tools and analytics including AI automation platforms.- People leadership skills are not required for this Role. Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree in related field required.- Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, 3 years of people management experience required.
