Step into a rewarding opportunity working as a Special Education Teacher for middle school students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers the chance to support students in a Learning Resource Center, collaborating closely with two fellow SPED teachers. The campus is conveniently located near Olympia, WA, and this is an onsite-only position.

You’ll be a valued part of a team delivering specialized instruction and supporting approximately 40 students across grades 6, 7, and 8. The work schedule is full time, 7.5 hours per day with a half-hour unpaid lunch, running from September 9, 2026, through June 16, 2027.

What You’ll Need:

• Valid Washington Special Education Teacher License/Certification, or willingness to obtain before start date
• Current fingerprint clearance through OSPI or readiness to complete this process
• Experience teaching special education in a school setting, preferably in middle school grades
• Strong instructional, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
• Dedication to fostering positive educational outcomes for students with diverse learning requirements

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized and group instruction within the Learning Resource Center
• Manage a caseload of approximately 40 middle school students (grades 6-8)
• Collaborate daily with two LRC colleagues and support staff
• Monitor student progress, update IEPs, and maintain documentation aligned with state guidelines
• Engage in parent communication and participate in IEP meetings
• Contribute positively to the middle school educational environment
