Job Description
The primary objective served by the Quality Technician/Inspector is to carry out necessary inspection of raw materials and finished goods from outsourced suppliers and internal production. In addition, this position will be involved with maintaining quality plans and inspection reports, as well as production set ups as directed by the Quality Manager. This position requires a person to able to perform inspections against specifications defined by engineering drawings using tools provided through the entire manufacturing process from material procurement to finished goods. Appropriate documentation and inspection reports will need to be maintained. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work well with others.

Requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform inspections including receiving, first piece, in-process and final, using various inspection equipment and methods (visual, standard measuring tools, open plate and CMM) to verify compliance to quality requirements and documents.
• Compile data packages (inspection reports, material certifications) for submittal and/or shipment to customer.
• Document information in various databases and other internal programs; log assembly non-conformities and generate reports.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance are performed on inspection equipment as assigned.

Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:

• Should be proficient with inspection tools such as various types of micrometers, height gages and vernier calipers when inspecting fabricated parts.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints and be familiar with common machine tools.
• Ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Maintain adequate levels of performance and motivation despite job tasks that are routine, repetitive, and/or non-stimulating.
