This position offers an excellent leadership opportunity in a fast paced, engaging, and high profile environment in the Filing Division. The Fraud, Analysis & Detection Section (FADS), detects and prevents fraud related identity theft and improper claims of refundable credits (earned income tax and withholding) and refundable payments (estimate payments).

Under the general guidance of an Assistant Bureau Director (Compliance Validation & Analysis Programs), Filing Compliance Bureau, the Administrator III is responsible for the management of Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) Refund Fraud Prevention and Detection Programs, Policy, and other decisions that have significant statewide impacts on FTB’s Refund Fraud Detection and Prevention Programs. Through subordinate managers, Administrator III will direct the activities of staff in the Fraud Analysis and Detection Section who focuses on detection, prevention, and resolution of refund fraud and identity theft in a contact center environment. The team identifies potential fraud, examines and verifies Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Business Entity (BE) return information to determine if fraud or identity theft exists, taking action to resolve taxpayer accounts.

Working Conditions

This position requires 4 or more days in the office per week. It is designated office-centeredand may be eligible for some remote work based on departmental guidelines and operational need.
