About the Position

Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates must have neuro and trauma care experience. Description: The unit has 44 beds and a staff of 95. The day shift grid includes 2 charge nurses, 11 registered nurses, 4 certified nursing assistants, and 1 health unit coordinator. The night shift grid includes 2 charge nurses, 11 registered nurses, 4 certified nursing assistants, and 1 health unit coordinator. The patient ratios are 4 patients per nurse at grid and 5 patients per nurse when stretched. The equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Typical procedures performed on the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain placements, feeding tube placements, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate should be a team player and patient-focused. Floating may occur to stepdown and med-surg units. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Every other weekend is required.
