We are seeking two Specialist Signage Maintenance contractors to support the Wayfinding & Signage Program within the Operations Department. Reporting to the Manager of Signage Maintenance, this role will focus on maintaining, repairing, updating, and managing customer-facing signage across Sound Transit facilities, stations, and transit systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in signage maintenance, facilities maintenance, wayfinding systems, project coordination, contract administration, and field operations. This position combines office-based project management responsibilities with hands-on field inspections and signage maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support system-wide signage maintenance, repairs, replacements, and retrofit projects.
• Coordinate service change signage updates and temporary signage deployments.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, field audits, punch lists, and quality assurance reviews.
• Manage signage maintenance plans, operational processes, and maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs of customer-facing signage throughout transit facilities.
• Review and maintain signage documentation, message schedules, and sign location plans.
• Interpret architectural and construction drawings to verify sign placements and updates.
• Manage small signage-related projects, budgets, schedules, and expenditures.
• Assist with contract administration including scopes of work, change orders, invoices, and procurement documentation.
• Enter and maintain data in FileMaker, EAMS work orders, and tracking systems.
• Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Research materials, fabrication methods, and signage products.
• Support emergency, after-hours, and on-call signage response activities as required.
• Prepare reports, presentations, recommendations, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to produce and deploy production-ready signage.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience in signage maintenance, signage production, wayfinding systems, or related industry.
• Knowledge of custom signage and code-required signage.
• Experience with project coordination and operational process management.
• Experience with contract administration and vendor management.
• Ability to review architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, and SharePoint skills.
• Comfortable performing field inspections and working in active transit facilities.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience reviewing scopes of work, invoices, procurement documents, and change orders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting public transportation, facilities, infrastructure, or construction projects.
